  • With anything in life, it is so easy to focus on the bad rather than the good. We are at a festival in England called CreationFest - it’s my second time attending and Rachel’s third - and there are two ways to look at it. The easy way would be to say - it’s cold, rainy, miserable, we’re working outside, and we miss the sunshine.

But that wouldn’t even be close to a true picture of the festival itself or our time here. If there is one theme that has been emphasized in my mind, it’s redemption. When you live in a Christian bubble, at excellent church services with dear, lovable friends, it’s easy to forget what a miracle it is that we are a redeemed people.

Over and over again, we have seen people on this trip who have been drastically, completely, overwhelmingly redeemed by our glorious Savior. We went to cream tea with a dear friend today who gave her life to the Lord 7 years ago, and she said it so sweetly, “When Jesus saved me, He saved me in so many ways. He saved not only my life, but my marriage…and the list goes on.”

There is startling beauty to that phrase, “I once was lost, but now am found.” Many of our previous friends and new friends at this festival found Christ through CreationFest - it’s woven into the story of their redemption.

“The greatest miracle of all is not creation, but redemption, because it was there that the greatest battle was won.”

    -Steven Vickery at CreationFest
