Laughter
Laughing with friends is one of our favorite things to do. We spent today in York, England, with our dear friends, the Sylvesters, and had a wonderful day of fun, friendship, and laughter. I’d post pictures, but the only thing that wasn’t funny was how Sarah broke her camera. Side note: rain plus cameras plus clumsy = out of focus camera lenses.
Anyway, back to the point: there is a friendship in Christ that overrides time and distance. As is true with many of our missionary friends, we don’t get to see these ones very often, but our time together is always memorable. We shopped for old books (or Sarah did), ate Cornish pasties, Tunisian dates, Indian curries, caramel digestives, and homemade wheat bread, drank honeycomb lattes in the church’s coffee shop in the old city wall, and talked for hours.
You know you’re good friends when…you can all joke about pretty much anything imaginable and know that they’ll laugh at your jokes, even when they’re not very funny…they make you laugh so hard that you spew water all across their rug, and no one even minds…they plan out a whole day tailored to do every fun thing you could ever imagine…and every minute you’re with them, you wish you had a few more to spend.
Spending time with these friends also reminds us of all the dear friends at home in America and abroad- so to you, we love and miss you!
He will yet fill your mouth with laughing, And your lips with rejoicing.
